London region records 29 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend
In the London area, 29 new COVID-19 cases occurred over the weekend.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 11 cases on Saturday and 18 cases on Sunday.
“COVID is in the community and the infection continues,” Dr. Alex Summers, MLHU’s health physician, told CBC News.
Last week, cases increased in the region for three consecutive days in the 20s, but low weekend numbers alone do not reduce the overall trend of new cases.
“We’re stable. That’s good. But this can cause a dime. Looking at the other jurisdictions in the state, it’s really clear that it can take off like a rocket,” Summers said. The doctor added. Important people continue to follow public health guidelines.
The cases reported over the weekend were people of all ages, but people in their twenties and adolescents under the age of 19 accounted for the majority of cases, with nine and eight new cases, respectively.
