COVID NYC Update: New York City Transit Authority Test Identify 20 Asymptomatic Coronavirus-Positive Workers

Since late October, 3,027 workers have been tested at transit properties with 20 positive results. Another 278 people visited the Northwell Emergency Medical Center for testing and 18 were positive.
According to authorities, transit workers test positive for COVID-19 at a rate lower than the city-wide average of about 3%. The percentage of workers tested in the workplace is 0.66%. The positive rate for transit workers, including the Northwell test, is about 1%.
“We are working hard to fight this virus,” Utano said. “The Vice President and officers are constantly monitoring the situation and encouraging the MTA to take further action. We need to be vigilant and work together, including wearing masks, especially indoors. . “
