(((the above) Abounding Prosperity Inc. celebrated National Black HIV / AIDS Awareness Day on February 7th with the grand opening of the HOPE Health and Wellness Center in 1619 Martin Luther King Blvd. Then in August, Congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson announced that Abounding Prosperity received a total of $ 565,000 from the US Department of Health and Human Services through two federal grants as part of a special project in the National Importance Program. AIN
AIN (AIDS Interfaith Network, dba Access and Information Network) provides case management services for HIV / AIDS patients, including intake and registration, non-medical case management, and medical case management. In addition to medical transportation and language services, we also offer the Daire Center, which provides day care and meals for HIV / AIDS patients. AIN also offers outreach initiatives, health education and HIV prevention programs. In the most recent year with available data, AIN distributed 190,000 DART bus passes. We provided 90,000 hours of day center service. Provided 25,000 meals. 12,000 people were contacted through outreach and preventive services. I got on 9,000 vans. We provided 7,000 sessions of Spanish interpretation and translation and provided 2,000 clients with coordinated care through case management. Dallas AIDS Service
August, 511N owned by AIDS Services in Dallas. An empty building on Lancaster Ave. ignited and burned down. ASD was trying to refurbish the property to create additional housing units. ASD will continue to build this property to provide additional housing for residents.

AIDS Outreach Center
After the death of Shannon Hilgart, Secretary-General of the AIDS Outreach Center, Patrice Williams was appointed as the new ED for Tarrant County’s largest HIV services organization. Williams steered in July.

CAN Community Health – Arlington
CAN Community Health (CAN) has added a new health clinic to Arlington to provide patients with the best HIV care and services, regardless of insurance status or solvency. CAN first opened a clinic in Florida in 1991 and now has 36 locations nationwide, serving patients with HIV, hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted diseases. (Photo: CAN staff in Arlington)

Help Center for LGBT Health and Wellness
LGBT Health and Wellness Help Centers in Arlington and Fort Worth offer free PrEP through TelePrEP. Secretary-General DeeJay Johannessen explained that TeleHealth has become the new standard of care during a pandemic. Through TelePrEP, new patients can go online, request appointments and receive documents electronically. All TelePr EP services are free.

Resource Center
For World AIDS Day, the Resource Center will host Red Ribbon Tree Lighting. It will be virtually streamed on Wednesday, December 2nd, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm with the entertainment of Candlelight Vigil and Turtle Creek Corale. Events are streamed via the Resource Center Facebook page and YouTube channel. Then, from 7pm to 7:30 pm, the community is invited to the center’s community center on 5750 Cedar Springs Road to experience a drive-through, watch festive holiday lights, and enjoy Starbucks hot cocoa. Legacy Counseling Center
Melissa Grove, Secretary-General of the Legacy Counseling Center, gave a virtual presentation to students at the University of Dallas at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 1st, about the similarities found in HIV, the early AIDS crisis, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Prism Health North Texas
Prism Health North Texas is the three clinics in South Dallas, Oak Cliff, and Oak Cliff in the photo that provide primary care to people living with HIV, providing a variety of services, as well as HIV prevention and STI testing and treatment. Offers PrEP and pharmacies.

HIV and trans community
Transgender Community HIV Statistics:
• Transgender people accounted for about 2% of US HIV infection diagnoses, or about 760 newly diagnosed infections.
• Of the diagnoses of transgender people, 92% were included in the MTF.
• The number of diagnosed HIV infections in northeastern and western transgender adults and adolescents increased, but the number of midwestern and southern transgender adults and adolescents remained stable.

HIV / AIDS statistics
The CDC writes on its website that HIV and AIDS remain a persistent problem for the United States and countries around the world. Although the prevention and treatment of HIV has made great strides, there is still much to do.
These statistics are for 2018, the latest year in which AIDS information is available.
• 37,968 people were diagnosed with HIV in the United States and six subordinate areas.
• Men accounted for 31,691 or 37,968 new HIV diagnoses.
• Black / African-American gay and bisexual men accounted for 9,712, or 26% of new HIV diagnoses.
• The annual number of new diagnoses decreased by 7% from 2014 to 2018.
• In the United States, an estimated 1.2 million people were infected with HIV at the end of 2018.
• Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men accounted for 69% of all new HIV diagnoses in the United States and subordinate areas. Heterosexuals accounted for 24 percent of all HIV diagnoses.
• In the United States and subordinate areas, 15,820 people died among adults and adolescents diagnosed with HIV.
• Of the 37,968 new HIV diagnoses, 51% were in the south.
