62 Coronavirus Cases Related to Vaughan Window Manufacturing Facility

The York Region Public Health said in a notice issued on its website that the incident was State Window Corp on Hunter’s Valley Road. Said it was related to the outbreak in the workplace.

The York Region Public Health said a series of cases were first notified on November 10 and has since grown to 62 workplace-related coronavirus detections.
Of the 62 COVID-19 cases:
- 7 are from the York region
- 28 are from the Peel region
- 22 are from Toronto
- 5 cases are from Simcoe-Muskoka

According to the local public health department, in addition to 62 cases, there are 5 cases of possible virus, and 1 case is under investigation.
The outbreak was declared by the York Regional Public Health Service on November 20.
“Public health continues to conduct on-site inspections, work with employers to identify additional cases and identify close contacts associated with identified cases,” the public health department said in a notice. I did.
“York Regional Public Health is also working with the Ministry of Labor for ongoing investigations.”
After making recommendations on precautionary measures, the York Regional Public Health said, “The outbreak is showing signs of improvement.”
Recommendations include providing each worker with a face shield, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes, keeping physical distance, limiting the maximum capacity of the washroom, and cleaning the dining room table after each use. That included introducing a multilingual screener to address the language barrier.
The York Region Public Health also stated that this was the second outbreak declared in Vaughan’s State Window.
The outbreak was previously declared on May 17, with a total of 17 cases of coronavirus occurring and ending on July 6.
