Pamplin Media Group-Oregon reports 7 more deaths and 1,314 new COVID-19 cases
With new and estimated cases, the total number of cases in the state is 75,431. The death toll reaches 912.
New COVID-19 cases in Oregon continue to be reported at a high rate, according to state updates published Monday.
Authorities reported 1,314 new confirmed or estimated cases and 7 additional deaths of COVID-19 patients on 30 November.
The total number of new cases is based on either confirmed test results or estimates based on contact between symptoms and confirmed cases.
Oregon has set a new record of 1,669 new confirmed presumptive cases reported on Saturday, November 28.
Prior to November 12, the state had never reported more than 1,000 cases. In total for the past 19 days, it has exceeded 16 times, and 5 times has exceeded 1,500 cases.
“COVID-19 is spreading faster in all parts of Oregon,” OHA director Patrick Allen said in a prepared statement. “If we stay true to science-based masking and social distance expansion, we can prevent more people from getting sick and dying. According to the state, the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Oregon has increased from 45 to 584. The number of patients in the intensive care unit has increased from 10 to 117.

• A 67-year-old man in Marion County tested positive on November 5, and died at Salem Hospital on November 27.
• An 85-year-old woman in Marion County, positive on November 19, died at the Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center on November 28.
• A 48-year-old man from Multnomah County who was positive on 22 November and died at the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on 25 November.
• An 83-year-old man from Multnomah County who tested positive on 17 November and died at home on 25 November.
• A 78-year-old man from Multnomah County, positive on November 5, died at Adventist Hospital on November 19.
• A 58-year-old man in Washington County died on October 25 at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center after a positive test on October 31.
