University of Utah donates to support COVID-19 Longhowler research
Salt Lake City — More and more people across the United States are experiencing prolonged symptoms of COVID-19.

In late March, Christine Morgan began to show symptoms of COVID-19. It was early in the pandemic, so she didn’t know exactly what was wrong. She tested positive for COVID-19 in mid-April, but is still symptomatic months later.
“If I got it and I was lucky enough to survive, I thought it would be better in a few weeks because they were saying,” she said.
Her symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, hair loss, and a rash.
“I have the problem that my heart rate is too high or too slow. The same is true for blood pressure,” she said.
Doctors try to treat each condition, but little is known about how to treat these types of patients or why the body reacts this way. The University of Utah is funding research To find those answers.

“It offers treatment options and gives people suffering from long COVIDs the opportunity to lead a more normal life,” Morgan said.
