Coronavirus, Tennessee: Knox County reports two new COVIDs-19 deaths and 397 new cases
Knoxville, Tennessee (WATE) – Knox County reported two more COVID-19-related deaths and 397 new cases on Sunday.
The Knox County Health Department reported 397 new COVID-19 cases, and the number of active cases is currently down from 2,167 on Saturday to 1,984.
Currently, there are a total of 19,108 inactive cases in the county, so the number of inactive cases has increased by 181 from Saturday.
The county reported that 123 residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, which is increasing from 117 reported on Saturday.
Knox County Health Commission on Wednesday Vote 7-3 in favor of passing New COVID-19 Social gathering restriction rules, Some social gatherings are limited to 10 people. The regulation came into effect on Friday.
On Tuesday, Knox County reported 437 new cases. More than 400 new cases reported for the first time in a day.

As of September 4, KCHD reports “inactive” cases rather than “recovered” cases. Inactive cases include those who are more than 14 days old onset or, in the case of asymptomatic cases, those who are older than the sampling date. This is consistent with the Tennessee Department of Health.
Of the total of 20,532 confirmed cases in Knox County reported since the outbreak of the pandemic, 622 were hospitalized. The Health Department dashboard lists 1,166 possible cases.
