NS reports four new COVID-19 cases.New elementary school based case
Halifax-Nova Scotia reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total number of active cases to 88.
All new cases are in the central zone. Three cases are under investigation, one is school-based, and one is related to a trip outside the Atlantic Canada and is self-isolating.
The number of new cases on Saturday and Sunday was low in contrast to the previous weekend, and Nova Scotia’s Prime Minister Stephen McNeil thanked him.
In a release released Sunday, McNeil said, “I’m happy to see the number of new cases declining this weekend, as Nova Scotia follows public health measures to delay the spread of COVID-19. It reflects our commitment to play a role. ” “I know it’s difficult to stay away from family and friends, but I want to encourage everyone to stay vigilant and continue to contain the virus.”
Despite improved case outlook, Dr. Robert Strang, director of health at Nova Scotia, encouraged continued compliance with precautionary measures and new restrictions.
“It’s encouraging to see new cases fall below the double digits we see, but it’s too early to relax now,” Strang said in a release published on Sunday. “We must remain diligent and follow public health orders and advice to keep our citizens safe.”
New school-based case
On Sunday night, the state announced that a school-based case of COVID-19 was confirmed on Sunday.
The incident was confirmed at Ian Forsyth Elementary School in Dartmouth, in the Central Zone.
The school will remain closed to students until Thursday. In the meantime, the school will be thoroughly cleaned while the students are studying at home while the school is closed. Students and staff will receive the latest information on Wednesday.
Public health will contact and contact the case closely and advise on the next steps. Everyone with close contact is notified, tested and asked to quarantine for 14 days.
Nova Scotia states that the case will be reflected in the new case number on Monday.

On Saturday, the Nova Scotia Institute of Health completed 1,171 Nova Scotia tests.
Since October 1, Nova Scotia has completed 75,833 tests. Of these tests, there were 279 positive COVID-19 cases, of which 191 recovered. There are no dead.
Currently, no one is hospitalized.
The age of the case is from less than 10 years to over 70 years.
There are cases identified throughout the state, but most have been identified in the central zone, including the Halifax municipality.
The state government states that the cumulative cases per zone may change as data is updated in the state’s electronic information system, Panorama.
COVID ALERT APP
The Canadian COVID-19 Alert App is available in Nova Scotia.
The app, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play, informs users if they may have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
