British Columbia has reported 2,020 new COVID-19 cases in three days, with more than 500 deaths.
In British Columbia, 2,020 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded and 35 died in three days.
From Friday to Saturday, there were 647 COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths, and from Saturday to Sunday, 726 cases and 10 deaths were reported. The state reported 647 cases and 7 deaths between Sunday and Monday, the first time in two weeks that BC did not record double-digit daily deaths.
Of the new cases, 1,362 were in the Fraser Health area, 304 were in Vancouver Coastal Health, 203 were in Interior Health, 45 were in Island Health, and 106 were in Northern Health. Ten of the reported cases were epilinked.
The 35 deaths bring the state’s COVID-19 deaths to 527.
The number of people hospitalized for this disease is 349, an increase of 9 from Friday. 77 people are in the intensive care unit.
Authorities reported 9,380 active cases in the state, an increase of 330 from Friday. An additional 10,957 people were quarantined due to potential exposure.

There were a total of 38,152 cases in the state, of which 27,287 recovered.

Over the weekend, health officials declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at a mink farm in Fraser Valley.
Vancouver Coastal Health said Monday that the outbreak of COVID-19 at Richmond Hospital had spread to two more units.
Outbreaks were declared in the hospital’s six north and three south medical units. Earlier this month, outbreaks were declared in four northern acute care units for the elderly.
All three units are banned from new admissions and transfers and are only allowed to make compassionate end-of-life visits.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that Canada will receive up to 249,000 doses of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech by the end of December.
