My sister says she asked for help because a nursing home patient was dying from Amazon Alexa with a coronavirus
A nursing home patient with a coronavirus in Michigan sought help from Alexa on an Amazon Echo device before she died, her sister said.
Rouen Dagen Died on Saturday, Immediately after she was transferred to Grand Rapids hospital. She was 66 years old.

According to her sister, Penny, the doctor’s office stated that Dagen’s death was caused by COVID-19, a disease caused by diabetes, hypertension, and coronavirus.

“She was a very talented girl. She played the piano and organ. She sang,” Penny Dagen told NBC News. “She was a ventriloquist. She played the guitar.”
Penny, like other nursing homes across the country, could not visit Rouen directly after nursing homes restricted visitors due to pandemics. Therefore, Alexa became the primary communication tool with Rouen’s sister.
