The Wisconsin Department of Health reported that 9,591 tests were obtained in the last 24 hours, of which 4,114 were positive (almost 43% (42.89%)). The remaining 5,477 tests were negative.

Health Minister Andrea Palm said the positive rate indicates that people being tested for coronavirus are not enough. ā€œThe average number of tests per day is about 29,500. Two weeks ago, that average was over 39,000,ā€ she said. According to Palm, the health sector does not know why few people are seeking testing, especially if the infection rate in the community remains very high.

New cases of coronavirus were identified in 71 counties.

To date, 418,446 people in Wisconsin have tested positive for coronavirus since the first case on February 5, which exceeds 7% (7.19%) of the state’s population. An additional 2.2 million (2,207,950) were negative. This is 45% (45.11%) of the state’s population.

According to the DHS, more than 350,000 (356,752) people diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus have recovered since February. New state guidelines for quarantine came into force on Monday, and people in close contact with people with COVID-19 should only be quarantined for 10 days if they have no symptoms. If you are tested within 48 hours of completing the quarantine and get a negative test result, you can reduce it to 7 days. Previously, you were required to be quarantined for 14 days from the onset of positive tests or symptoms. The DHS wants people to be more likely to comply with quarantine if the quarantine period is short. People still need to monitor their symptoms for 14 days and isolate them immediately if they do.

Hospitalization

Hospitalization has made a big leap. Since Monday, 214 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized, with less than 100 hospitalizations in two days since the record 277 on December 1.

Since the first patient in Madison, a total of 18,500 people have been hospitalized with severe symptoms of COVID-19. It seems to be stagnant in 4.4% of all cases of coronavirus.

There are 116 hospitals in 10 hospitals in the northeastern region, and 25 hospitals in the intensive care unit.

Daily changes in hospitalizations take into account deaths and discharges.

There were six patients at an alternative medicine facility at a state trade fair on Tuesday. Field hospitals aim to free beds by taking patients who are about to be discharged but are not ready, such as outpatients who need oxygen.

Hospital preparation

On Monday, WHA reported that 232 of the state’s 1,466 ICU beds were open (15.8%). A total of 1,902 ICUs, intermediate care, medical surgery, and negative flow isolation beds are available in 134 state hospitals (17.0%). These beds are for all patients, not just COVID-19, and the ability to fill the beds depends on whether the hospital has the necessary medical and support staff.
