Almost all of Brockton’s Bridgewater area is a high-risk “red”
Nearly half of the entire Massachusetts community is considered at high risk for COVID-19 amid a surge in incidents that have caused Governor Charlie Baker to: Roll back state reopening..
Five weeks after Massachusetts revised its COVID-19 risk measurement system, it became more difficult for communities to be classified as “red” and more than ever since the state began using color-coded systems. The community is in the highest risk category. Determine the risk of the community to the disease.
As of Thursday evening, 158 communities were in the high-risk “red” and the entire Massachusetts had fallen into it. This is an increase of 61 new communities this week after 97 was designated in “red” last week.
Locally, all towns around Brockton except Easton are at high risk “red”.

last week, Abington, Randolph and Storton join Brockton, Taunton and Whitman in the high risk category.. All of these communities remain at high risk for the highly contagious coronavirus, but adjacent areas include Avon, Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Hanson, Holbrook, Middleboro, Rainham and West Bridgewater.
An average daily case count of 25.87 per 100,000 Easton residents is sufficient to classify the town into a high-risk category, but the previous test positive rate was 3.33%, so the risk of COVID-19 is medium. The degree remains “yellow”. two weeks. At least 5% of the population tested over the two weeks must be positive to promote the town to “red”, with more than 10 cases per day.
Massachusetts, which was the last overall “deficit” on October 29, the last weekly state public health service report before the risk measurement system was revised, is again in the highest risk category. 50 cases per 100,000 people a day. Residents and test positive rate of 5.25%.
Last week, the state had 34.9 cases per 100,000 people a day, with a positive test rate of 3.32%, below the 4% required to get “red.”
Westbridge Water has the highest average daily incidence per 100,000 people in the Brockton region, with 66 new cases between 22 November and 5 December. Over the past two weeks, there have been 19 new cases in Westbridge Water.
The town currently has 64.70 cases per 100,000 people per day, with a positive test rate of 7.06 percent. The town falls into the least populated category, so if more than 25 new cases occur in two weeks, Westbridge Water will turn “red” regardless of test rate.
The neighboring East Bridgewater is also in the red again due to the outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the town’s private commercial club. At least 55 cases are associated with club clusters and more than 40 live in town.
Over the past two weeks, 105 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, with an average incidence of 50.41 per 100,000. Almost 8% of residents have been positive in the last two weeks.

Raynham had 90 new cases in the last two weeks, compared to 53 in the last two weeks. This brought the town to 42.51 cases per 100,000 people a day, during which 6.62 percent of the population was coronavirus-positive.
In Middleboro, there were 40.93 157 new cases per day with a positive test rate of 7.31 percent.

Holbrook was in 62 new cases, 39.07 per 100,000 per day, with 7.35 percent of residents positive.
Avon is also one of the least populated categories, with 27 new cases of “red” in the last two weeks. Almost 7 percent of the residents tested during that time were positive.
Brockton has been suffering from worsening infection rates in state reports over the last 10 weeks and has continued for the last two weeks.
During that time, 772 residents were tested positive for COVID-19 (mean daily incidence of 55.57), and 8.36 percent of those tested were positive.
Storton has been in the red for the second straight week, the second time since the state launched a color-coded system on August 12. In the last two weeks, 156 inhabitants have been virus-positive, or 40.26. The town’s positive test rate was 6.44 percent per day.
