The Alabama Public Health Service (ADPH) reported 116 new cases of the virus in Lee County on Wednesday. This is the newest case added in one day since 101 was added on December 2nd.

There were 5,123 confirmed cases and 3,376 possible cases in Lie Group on Thursday. According to ADPH data, there were a total of 8,499 COVID-19 cases.
Lie Group currently has an average of about 59 new COVID-19 cases per day in the last two weeks. The county had an average of about 45 new cases per day two weeks ago.
ADPH said it processed a backlog of positive PCR and antigen results from multiple centers on Wednesday. The processed tests represent about 10 percent of the cases reported Thursday.
“The case numbers generated from these reports are categorized as confirmed for PCR and likely for antigens,” the ADPH notice said. “The case for this backlog was from October 5th to December 7th.”
Lie groups are also at very high risk levels for COVID-19, according to the COVID-19 data map released by ADPH on Thursday.

The color-coded status map shows four risk levels. Very high, high, medium and low, respectively, shown in red, orange, yellow and green. The risk level is based on a 14-day trend of COVID-19 cases in the county.
