Coronavirus: 273, 8 dead in Manitoba on Sunday
Winnipeg-Manitoba health officials have reported seven new COVID-19 deaths and 273 cases of new illness.
The number of cases and deaths, announced in the state’s Daily COVID-19 Bulletin on Sunday, has declined since Friday.
The death of one woman in her 60s is from a healthy area in the north.
Interlake-From a healthy area in the east, a woman in her 70s associated with the outbreak of Kinplace in Oakbank died of COVID-19.
In Winnipeg, four of the deaths are associated with elderly care facilities. A man in his 60s associated with an outbreak at St. Norbert Personal Care Home, a woman in his 70s associated with an outbreak at the Charleswood Care Center, a man in his 80s associated with an outbreak at Maples Long Term Care Home, and him. The 80s were all associated with an outbreak in Park Manor Care and all died of the virus.
A man in his 70s associated with an outbreak in the N3W unit at Concordia Hospital also died.
The number of deaths in the states associated with COVID-19 is currently 490.
In addition to seven deaths, 273 viruses were announced on Sunday.
Of the new cases, 166 are in Winnipeg with a 5-day test positive rate of 13 percent.
Of the remaining cases, 17 are in the Interlake-Eastern Health Area, 50 are in the Northern Health Area, 18 are in the Prairie Mountain Health Area, and 22 are in the Southern Health Area-Santeshud Health Area.
The total number of cases in Manitoba since early March is 21,023.
There are currently 5,728 active cases in the state, and 14,805 have recovered from the virus.
The current state’s 5-day test positive rate is currently 13.5 percent.
The number of COVID-19 inpatients is 304, a slight increase since Saturday, with 43 patients receiving intensive care.
On Saturday, 2,145 tests were run, bringing the total since early February to 388,356.
