Raleigh, NC — North Carolina reported 6,819 new lab-identified COVID-19 cases on Sunday. This is the second highest total since the pandemic began, according to data from the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
As a result, the daily average of new cases last week reached a record high of 5,944.
North Carolina reached 6,000 new cases for the first time last Saturday.
