Maine gets 40% less Pfizer vaccine dose than expected next week – NECN
Maine is one of the states that says it will receive less COVID-19 vaccine next week than the federal government has promised.
According to Governor Janet Mills and state public health officials, the Pfizer vaccine allocation is 40% less, at 8,775 shots instead of 13,650 shots.
“A few days ago, we learned that estimates had dropped significantly,” Dr. Nirab Shah, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Maine, said in a news briefing on Friday afternoon. “Unfortunately, this is a discovery that has also occurred in other states.”
