Worldwide, COVID-19 killed more than 100,000 yesterday, while the United States recorded 2,037 deaths in just one day. On the other hand, more than 20% recovered, with a reported recovery of 376,200 (22.20%).
The number of reported infections is the highest in the United States, 499,252, or about 29.46% of the world’s total. The death toll in the United States has increased to 18,637. However, experts at the White House’s Covid-19 Task Force have stated that coronavirus outbreaks are beginning to level off across the United States.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was able to walk to the hospital approximately 24 hours after finishing intensive care treatment for COVID-19. This is the first time in the UK that the virus has killed about 1,000 people every day.
In the meantime, the head of the World Health Organization has warned that premature removal of the coronavirus blockade could cause a “fatal resurgence” of infectious diseases.
Spain and Italy, the worst-hit countries in Europe, have eased some measures, but the blockade has continued.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Gebreezas said that countries should be cautious of deregulation, even if they are suffering from economic consequences.
