Oregon COVID-19 Update: December 22, 2020

Portland, Oregon — Health officials in Oregon reported on Tuesday that another 35 people died from COVID-19, increasing the state’s death to 1,382.

The Oregon Department of Health (OHA) also reported an additional 1,282 cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 105,073.

According to the latest report, 2,573 doses of vaccine were given in Oregon on Monday. A total of 7,203 people in the state have been vaccinated for the first time since the start of vaccination last week. So far, all vaccinations have been done in hospitals and long-term care facilities in Oregon.

The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized throughout the state has decreased slightly from 528 to 524, and the number of ICU beds has decreased from 121 to 119.

In a report on Tuesday, the number of new cases in Multnomah County was overwhelmingly high at 258. Clackamas County reported 168 and Marion County reported 161.
