Cowlitz County was scheduled to receive 1,400 doses this week.
This week, the state assigned 44,850 Pfizer doses and 127,900 Moderna doses to more than 220 sites in 37 of the state’s 39 counties, according to the Ministry of Health. Wakaiacam requires 300 doses of Moderna.
Michelle Roberts, one of the state’s vaccine planning group leaders, said next week the state would need 57,525 doses of Pfizer vaccine and 44,300 doses of Moderna.
According to Roberts, the Moderna vaccine does not require ultra-cold storage like Pfizer and is delivered in a minimum dose of 100 doses instead of a minimum of 975 doses, making it easier to distribute to more rural locations.
Kaiser Permanente received 400 Moderna doses at the Longview Clinic, spokesman Michael Foley said. Staff vaccinations will begin on Tuesday, he said.
Dr. Lawrence Neville, a health officer at PeaceHealth St. John and Southwest, said he was told to tentatively predict doses of 1,000 in Longview and 2,000 in Vancouver.
PeaceHealth is still running out of the first 3,900 dose allocation of Pfizer vaccine and is aiming for zero, Neville said.
