COVID Victoria Update: Royal Melbourne Hospital Staff Quarantine After Fear
Staff at the Royal Melbourne Hospital were forced to quarantine after the patient was tested positive for COVID, but the person was rested and received a negative result.

The Department of Health and Human Services said the expert review panel “reviewed one case with inconsistent test results” on Saturday night.
“After a review of clinical, epidemiological and evidence, the case was rejected and considered negative,” said a spokesman.
It is unknown whether hospital staff were released from quarantine after the case was declared negative.
Meanwhile, Victoria recorded a new case of coronavirus in a hotel quarantine.
The state has not recorded locally acquired cases of COVID-19 for 58 consecutive days.
However, Victoria continues to be wary of the growing “Avalon Cluster” on the beaches of northern Sydney.
NSW announced nine new community cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Eight are linked to Avalon clusters, for a total of 116.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard of New South Wales became emotional on Saturday as he begged young people to “stop” at a large Christmas party at Bronte Beach in Sydney.
Hundreds of people were seen chanting and dancing at the party before the riot police disbanded the party around 3 pm.
“That event, I hope it won’t be a Superspreading event,” Hazard said. “But there is all the possibility.”
Victoria has 10 active cases of COVID-19. Nine are travelers returning from hotel quarantine, and one is a teenage girl quarantined at home after being infected with the virus in New South Wales.
Royal Melbourne Hospital refused to comment on Saturday night.
