According to city officials, the daily update of COVID-19 in San Antonio / Bexar County will not take place on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. The Bexar County update numbers below are as of December 23, 2020.

  • Bexer County: 283 new cases were reported on Sunday, with 999 backlogs, bringing the total number of cases to 112,218. Two new deaths were reported with a backlog of 29, increasing the number of deaths from coronavirus complications to 1,510.
  • Hays County: On Tuesday, Hays County officials reported 165 new cases and two additional COVID-related deaths in the county. As of Tuesday, there were a total of 9,175 local cases confirmed by tests (1,428 of which were active), and the death toll increased to 122. 7,625 inhabitants have recovered from the virus.
  • Comal County: Comal County officials reported an additional 79 cases of coronavirus on Thursday (6 confirmed, 73 likely), for a total of 6,009 cases. The total number of deaths remains 146. The county estimated 796 active cases on Thursday and restored 5,067 inhabitants.

Trends in Bexar County

Since authorities began reporting cases in March 2020, we have tracked the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bexar County. The figure below shows the number of cases since June, and shows the number of cases per day along the 7-day moving average.
