North Dakota’s active COVID-19 cases have reached their lowest points since August

The deaths recorded on Tuesday included two residents from Ward County and one from Bottineau, Cass, Loretto, and Williams counties. Three people reported dead on Tuesday were in their 60s, and one woman in Ward County was in her 50s, well younger than the average age in North Dakota who died of the virus.

Over the last half month, active COVID-19 cases plummeted from a peak of over 10,000 on November 13. Currently, 1,701 North Dakota states are known to be infected with the virus, a decrease from Monday to 177. Due to Tuesday’s decline, North Dakota’s active COVID-19 cases have reached their lowest level since August 26, when the state’s virus outbreak just began.

The Ministry of Health states that 1,276 North Dakota states have died from COVID-19 since March. The state killed an average of nearly eight people a day in December, down from November, when North Dakota killed an average of more than 16 people a day.
