Coronavirus: NHS Highland confirms 20 cases of Covid-19 associated with Dingwall outbreaks
Highland health officials have associated 20 cases of Covid-19 with two pubs in Rossshire. This is because the number of incidents continues to increase and we are calling on the people to be vigilant.
The Mallard Bar and Oscars pub, in the heart of Dingwall town, will remain closed until the beginning of the new year as incidents continue to grow in the area.
NHS Highland first confirmed the outbreak last week after a Mallard pub customer tested positive for a deadly virus.
Sean Kennedy, the landlord of the Station Square Pub, voluntarily closed the Panther door last Tuesday, just three days before Christmas, as news of the outbreak spread.
Nine days later, the Oscars pub in Strathpeffer Road suspended trading until further notice, after being associated with the spread of the outbreak.
Eight more positive cases have been confirmed on the Dingwall, bringing the total number of cases to 20.
Customers visiting the facility between Friday, December 18th and Christmas Eve are being urged by health authorities to stay vigilant and pay attention to Covid-19’s symptoms.
The NHS Highland is also urging all customers to be tested for the virus as a precautionary measure as the number of cases continues to grow.
