Ontario reports more than 3,300 new cases of coronavirus and sets a daily record
Ontario reported 3,328 new cases of novels Coronavirus On Thursday, the total number of cases in the state will be 182,159.
This is above Wednesday’s total of 2,923, showing the state’s largest daily increase in cases to date.
“Locally, there are 888 new cases in Toronto, 431 in Peel, 418 in the York region, 257 in Windsor-Essex County and 194 in Ottawa,” said Health Minister Christine Elliott.

The state showed that the positive rate on the final day was 5.7%, down from 8.4% on Wednesday and up from 3.7% last Thursday.
According to state statistics, 1,235 people (up 58) have been hospitalized for the virus, the highest since the pandemic began.
There are 337 people in the intensive care unit (up 14) and 210 people using ventilators (up 6).
The following is a breakdown of the cases in Ontario by age and gender.

- 23,562 people are under 19 years old
- 66,256 are 20-39 years old
- 52,491 are 40-59 years old
- 26,320 are 60-79 years old
- 13,493 people are over 80 years old
The state states that age and gender are not reported in all cases.
The state also notes that the number of cases reported daily publicly may not match the number of cases reported by the local public health department on a particular day. The local public health unit will report when the case is first notified. This can be updated and changed when the information becomes available. Data may be pulled at different times.
According to the Ministry of Long-Term Care, 2,749 deaths have been reported between residents and patients in long-term care homes throughout Ontario, an increase of 28. Currently, there are 187 outbreaks in long-term care homes.
There are 1,186 caregivers and 1,050 staff members.
As of 8 pm on Wednesday, Ontario had received 23,502 COVID-19 vaccines, an increase of 5,436 from the previous day.
