2 deaths, more than 279 Covid-19 cases

Thailand reported two more Covid-19 deaths and 279 new infections, fearing that this trend would continue as more people travel during the New Year holidays.

According to the Covid-19 Situation Management Center (CCSA), the cumulative death toll for new cases was 63, 7,163.

A spokesman said the Ministry of Public Health ordered the heads of health in Bangkok and eight other states to consider strengthening health measures and closing all recreational facilities to contain the spread.

The target states are Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkhram, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Chonburi and Rayong.
