Boy, 7, after fighting a deadly illness related to Covid, remained memorable

The schoolboy lost his memory after the fight with Covid led to a rare illness.

Logan Walsh, 7, was diagnosed with pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome (PIMS-TS) 6 weeks after recovering from a Covid attack.

His first symptom of the fatal condition was swelling of his hands and feet, which appeared with a rash.

His mother, Jessica Walsh, 47, called an ambulance and was transferred to Leeds General Hospital. There the doctor was confused by his condition.

One expert recognized signs from children infected with Covid after dealing with multiple cases of PIMS-TS during the pandemic process.

PIMS-TS can cause organ failure, inadequate blood flow, and other serious first aid measures. That is, the child must be admitted to the ICU.

Experts told the family from Bradford that the cases he treated were largely identical to Logan’s case, with no symptoms of the virus itself, but the syndrome developed a few days later.

Logan was forced to undergo steroid treatment and later developed a heart murmur. This means he was transferred to the ICU.

His body began to swell as it tried to heal himself, and Logan’s blood became thin and worried.

The boy is now forgetting the little things his mother has to remind.

As Logan is set to start school again, the family is worried that this new side effect may cause problems for him.

Jessica said:’Now in his memory he forgets some things that can be frustrating for him.

“He doesn’t remember the worst of the nine poor days. We decided it was probably a good thing.

“There was one particular day when we really thought we might lose him.

“But he remembered Christmas morning for a few days, so in general his memory isn’t great, but I don’t remember it now.

“We can remind him of a little bit, so I really hope his memory will improve, especially when he’s starting a little school work.”

Despite amnesia, Jessica said Logan was doing really well and returning to normal.

“He’s doing really well nonetheless, and we want to think he’s almost back to his normal self,” she added.

“He’s still struggling a bit on the stairs. He has to grab something or put his hands on the floor, but he’s definitely improving.

“He just started trying to jump again and managed to get a few inches off the ground. Congratulations on him and he’s very happy!”
