Scott Care Home Residents Test Positive for Covid 19 Days After Vaccination
Residents of Paisley Care Home became infected with Covid-19 just days after receiving the first dose of the life-saving vaccine.
Residents and staff at Hunter Hill Care Home tested positive for the virus after it broke out on Blackford Road grounds last week.
The people living there received the Pzifer jab on December 23rd.
However, there is no immunity to the virus as it takes at least 14 days for the vaccine to take effect.
The Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), which owns and operates the home, found how many of its 60 residents and staff were infected with the deadly disease and the outbreak was first detected. Refused to state.
It is also unknown if they were infected with a new, more infectious strain of Covid-19.
An HSCP spokesman said: “Our staff is currently managing the outbreak of Covid-19 at Hunter Hill Care Home. Here, with residents

Express reported on Monday how Care Inspectorate evaluated Hunterhill as “appropriate” after assessing infection control practices and how well it took care of patients during a pandemic.
In a report released last week, Watchdog cited issues regarding how thoroughly the surface was cleaned and recommended implementing an “enhanced cleaning” program.
The news arrives just days after the Scottish and UK governments have confirmed that a second dose of both the Pzifer and Oxford Astrazeneca vaccines will be given from the first dose up to 12 weeks later.
Pzifer initially stated that a second jab should be given to the patient 3 weeks after the first jab to provide optimal immunity.
But scientists now say that the first dose provides 90 percent immunity two weeks later.
As of last week, about half of all care home residents living in 15 of the 22 care homes in Renfrewshire had their first Pzifer injection.
The process is expected to be completed by Friday at all long-term care facilities where individual residents have given their consent.
HSCP, which oversees vaccination programs at homes in local government areas, said the date for the second vaccination at a local care facility has not yet been set.
Staff at each home continue to be vaccinated at either Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley or Louisa Jordan in Glasgow.
