Arizona Healthcare Workers Receive Second Vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine | Arizona Coronavirus
Phoenix (3TV / CBS 5) –The first Arizona healthcare worker to receive the Covid-19 vaccine is now beginning to receive a second dose. New information from the CDC show Thousands of side effects have been reported nationwide, but incidents are still very rare.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Wednesday that the initial dose of Pfizer vaccine was about 1.9 million before Christmas. Over 4,300 reports of adverse reactions have been submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. This is about 0.2% of all initial doses administered by December 23, 2020.
According to the CDC report, Approximately 200 reported incidents were reviewed as possible severe allergic reactions. Twenty-one cases were determined to have anaphylaxis.

“I’ve had a slight pain in my arm since yesterday from that second shot,” Goldberg says. “I was hit in exactly the same place as last time, but I can move it. I feel good.”

“I can tell people that I feel good, but I’d rather show them,” Goldberg says. “I felt it was important for them to see.”

“It’s still less than 24 hours, so it goes without saying that we won’t get a fever later,” Goldberg says. “It just recognizes it, monitors it, and keeps an eye on it.”
Maricopa County operates five drive-through vaccination sites. Authorities say no one has experienced serious side effects with the vaccine, but others have experienced anxiety, mild allergic reactions, and pain.
