The United States has passed the shocking new Covid-19 milestone, with just 4000 Americans dying every day.

On the worst days of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, riots also stormed the Capitol in Washington, DC, protesting President Donald Trump’s election defeat.

In fact, after a record day of 3,915 deaths on Wednesday, the number of people dying from the coronavirus surged to over 4,000 on Thursday, the Washington Post reported.

With the lack of oxygen supply at viral hotspots like Los Angeles, the US healthcare system is overwhelmed by a record 132,000 people currently being treated at Covid-19 hospitals.

Craig Spencer, director of global health for emergency medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, said the attack on the Houses of Parliament diverts news coverage from record deaths.

“We’ve had a record number of deaths yesterday, a year from now. It will be high sometime next week and will be high again in the coming weeks,” he said.

“People have just become accustomed to the fact that thousands of people die.”

The death toll is expected to continue to skyrocket as the United States waits for Joe Biden in the presidential election to take office within two weeks.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leading infectious disease expert in the United States, said the increase in virus numbers reflects travel and social gatherings during the Christmas and New Year holiday seasons.

He said numbers will continue to grow, but it is still possible to “slow down that acceleration” through strict public health measures such as social distance and wearing masks.

“But that would really require people to be very, very focused on the kind of public health measures we are always talking about,” he said.

“It’s not time to withdraw this.”
