New Cumnock Mobile Coronavirus Test Unit for 2 Days
A mobile COVID-19 test unit is coming to Newcome Knock this weekend to allow residents showing symptoms of the virus to book tests.
It will be held from Saturday, January 16th to Sunday, January 17th.
People with coronavirus symptoms can book at a travel COVID laboratory in the town square.
This temporary facility allows people with COVID-19 symptoms to receive a free swab test as part of the government’s UK-wide effort to improve the accessibility of the community’s coronavirus test.
An increase in coronavirus has been recorded in East Airshire, with more than 400 cases per week in the region.
At Newcome Knock, there were eight people who tested positive in the neighborhood from January 2nd to 8th.

The Newcome Knock Site Reservation Portal will open at 6 pm on Friday, January 15th.
A council official said: “If you are going to be tested, you must follow public health measures such as physical distance, not using taxis or public transport, practicing proper personal hygiene, and covering your entire face (from the mobile test site).
“You should only schedule a test if you have coronavirus symptoms (high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or loss or change in your sense of smell or taste).
“If you have any of these symptoms, you should immediately quarantine. You just leave home to take the test. You must continue to quarantine until you receive the results.
“If you attend the Mobile Test Center, you will be asked to verify your identity upon arrival.
“Then, a test kit will be issued and you will be taken to the test booth, where you will be provided with guidance on how to take a swab from both your nose and mouth and do your own swab test.
“The swab test takes less than a minute and is relatively painless. After completing the test safely, the test assistant will advise you on how to register the test online or by phone and how to exit the center. Next day results.
“If the test is positive, the NHS Scotland Tracer will contact you. The NHS Scotland Tracer will let you know how long you and your family need to be quarantined and identify who you are in contact with. And protect others from further infections.
“Your close contacts will also hear from contact tracers who ask them to stay home for 10 days to prevent them from unknowingly spreading the virus. If they develop symptoms, they will also hear. You will be advised to book a test.
