Minnesota Releases Dashboard to Track COVID Vaccine Distribution by County, Age, and Gender

The Minnesota Health Department’s new website provides for the first time a view of where the COVID-19 vaccine is distributed and administered throughout the state.

Data reported as of January 9 show that the CDC has so far assigned 541,100 doses to Minnesota. Of these, 329,450 doses have been shipped to healthcare providers in Minnesota, and 100,500 doses have been shipped to pharmacy chains responsible for long-term care.
The doses administered by January 9 are:
- Minnesota, vaccinated at least once: 144,503
- Minnesota Completed Two Vaccinations: 7,392
Both vaccines need to be given twice, with a Pfizer vaccine every 21 days and a Modana vaccine every 28 days.
The three pharmacy chains responsible for vaccination at nursing care facilities in Minnesota are CVS, Walgreens, and Thrifty White.
Not all data are completely up-to-date, as all healthcare providers receiving vaccines through Minnesota report updates within 24 hours and pharmacies report within 72 hours.
The 541,100 doses previously assigned to Minnesota could be underestimated because the CDC did not disclose the number of doses distributed directly to federal agencies such as veteran issues, Indian health services, prisons, and the Pentagon.
