Hurst Convention Center Immunizes 2,000 Times Daily – NBC5 Dallas Fort Worth
Tarrant County opened its third major COVID-19 vaccination center at the Hurst Convention Center on Tuesday.
We serve about 2,000 people a day. Must be booked from the county website.
Retired teacher Kandis Crumpler was one of the first to be shot.
“It was very easy,” she said.
Mayor Hurst, Henry Wilson, said he was proud to share his city’s convention center for this project and was pleased with how quickly the project was put together.
“The center was set up in less than a week,” Wilson said.
He just got his shot.
“Everything went smoothly. I went in and out in 20 minutes. I was sitting in a chair for 15 minutes after shooting. Fortunately, my arm didn’t fall.”
The Public Health Department of Tarrant County organizes centers with the support of local cities and fire departments.
The center will remain open until at least the end of April.

As the state began distributing the COVID-19 vaccine for Phase 1A and 1B vaccines, the county health department began a waiting list of those wishing to receive the vaccine.

You do not need to be a resident of the county to enroll in the COVID-19 vaccine in that county. Registration is possible for anyone in Texas. For those who do not have internet access, Tarrant County also accepts registrations by phone 817-248-6299.
When the county first started vaccination last month, there was a long line-some people appeared without reservation.
However, county officials say they have learned to keep those people away in order to streamline the process and reduce the waiting time for those who sign up.
County leaders say the mass vaccination system is still underway and will improve over time.
The mayor said, “I hope everyone gets well and gets vaccinated.” “It will be a wonderful summer to return to normal and enjoy the pool and fireworks display. The quality of life we want.”
Other immunization centers are located at Tarrant County Resource Connection and Arlington Expo Center. Texas Health Resources has recently begun offering numerous shots at the clinic.
