The Department of Health has provided 7,287 vaccines and more clinics will be announced | Coronavirus Special Report
The Tompkins County Health Department (TCHD) has partnered with the Kayuga Health System to provide up-to-date information on COVID-19 vaccination in Tompkins County. TCHD will be vaccinated weekly from the state, which is subject to change. As of Friday, all initial vaccine doses available in Tompkins County have been administered.
TCHD does not schedule appointments or clinics until the next batch of vaccines arrives. This is not expected by January 19th. TCHD will generally notify you when the next clinic is scheduled.
New York State distributes the COVID-19 vaccine through gradual eligibility based on population, needs, and risk. The state directs the eligible population at each phase of distribution and approves vaccination sites, including the local Kayuga Health System site. Tompkins County receives this information and makes it available to the public as soon as possible. Subjects in Phase 1A and 1B are currently vaccinated. The Cayuga Health System, in collaboration with TCHD, administered 2,155 doses of vaccine at clinics held on 1/13, 1/14, and 1/15. Since receiving the first dose of the vaccine, CHS has been given 7,287 times.
TCHD urges residents not to call to ask about their vaccine schedule. At this time, staff cannot support registration.
