COVID: 10,497 new cases, 603 new deaths-English

(ANSA)-Rome, January 19-There were 10,497 new COVID-19 cases in Italy in the last 24 hours, with 603 deaths from the new virus, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

This will be compared to 8,824 new cases and 377 new victims on Monday.

There were 254,070 new tests compared to 158,674 on Monday.

The positive rate went from 5.6% (-1.5%) on Monday to 4.1%.

The number of cases in the intensive care unit decreased by 57, and the number of hospitalizations decreased by 185.

There are currently 2,400,598 cases since the outbreak and 83,157 casualties.

Currently positive are 535,524 (-11,535 compared to Monday), 1,781,917 (+21,428) recovered and discharged, and 510,338 (-11,293) isolated in the country. (ANSA).
