Sarasota County’s new vaccine reservation system goes live on Wednesday, with 3,300 doses available

Sarasota County’s new registration system for COVID vaccines will go live on Wednesday noon, and shortly thereafter, county officials will begin planning to distribute the 3,300 doses the county received this week.

The new system, which has been a hot topic for weeks, allows residents to pre-register their accounts by phone or online.

Unlike the old booking system, the new booking system allows residents to queue their names and wait for their turn.

Unlike Manatee County, Sarasota’s booking system is on a first-come, first-served basis.

A link to register for the new site is available on the Florida Department of Health Sarasota County website – sarasota.floridahealth.gov – And the county website – scgov.netAccording to a county spokeswoman.

There are also links on the county’s social media page and text alerts for those who sign up to get COVID alerts.

If you do not have access to or are concerned about technology, you can call 941-861-8297 to register your name in the registration system.

The new system will be tested almost immediately.

The county hosts drive-through clinics at Twin Lakes Park on Thursday and Friday to manage the 3,300 doses received this week.
