63 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death in middlesex-Thursday London

How is the situation in the London area?
The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 63 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The 7-day average of cases in the region is currently 71 per day.
But while the daily average continues to fall, Dr. Chris McKee, MLHU’s health officer, says it doesn’t mean the area is outside the forest.
“It’s peaked, it doesn’t mean it’s the last peak,” McKee said in a media briefing Thursday afternoon.
“Hopefully, this decline can continue for the next few weeks to months. There are many reasons for the increase in cases. Seeing the rapid relaxation of behavior can lead to a surge in cases. Here you can see that the British variants are spreading more rapidly, and in some cases they can surge. ”
Another death was reported on Thursday. It is an 80-year-old man who was a resident of long-term care. So far in January, a total of 59 people have died from the virus, including 37 in nursing homes. The death toll since the pandemic began is up to 161 in the region.
MLHU reported 35 recovery Thursdays and is currently confirmed to have 1,541 COVID-19 activities in Middlesex-London. Since the pandemic began, there have been 5,296 positive virus positives in the area.
Status of local hospitals and nursing homes
The London Health Sciences Center reports Thursday that it will be in 22 inpatients and 10 intensive care units for COVID-19. Currently, there are 22 staff members who test positive for the virus.
Cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in long-term care facilities. There are five new cases reported on Thursday, all of which are staff members. January is the most infected month since the pandemic began, with 349 cases, including 178 inhabitants and 171 staff.
In the London area, there are 13 facilities for the elderly fighting outbreaks. The latest outbreak was declared at People Care Oak Crossing on January 19th.
During the pandemic process, there were 73 deaths associated with long-term sanatoriums. More than half of these deaths, or 47, have occurred since December.

Despite the shortage of vaccines, McKee said the health unit plans to complete vaccination of all care facilities by this weekend.
COVID-19 inside and outside the region
Southwestern Public Health, including Elgin-Oxford, reported 23 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with one more dead. Currently, there are 271 known active cases in the area.
Meanwhile, in Ontario, 2,632 new COVID-19 cases were reported across the state, with an additional 46 deaths. The 7-day average for new daily cases has now fallen to 2,751.
Currently, 1,533 patients are being treated in Ontario hospitals, of which 388 are in the intensive care unit and 293 are ventilated.
