Michigan “Phase” System Healthcare providers are in a difficult situation to decide who will be vaccinated with the COVID vaccine first.
Some people seeking to be vaccinated against the coronavirus are not honest about their age or occupation because they receive injections during the early distribution stages of the state. Others are vaccinated before it’s their turn.
Some Missiganders are lining up for vaccination, making it more difficult for those who need to be vaccinated.
“I’m exhausted. I’ve been doing this job for 37 years. I’ve never worked so hard during this pandemic,” said Therese, a Metro Detroit healthcare worker. ..
Therese is at risk of working at the forefront as a therapist, helping children at home when they are struggling during a coronavirus pandemic. She is eligible for the COVID vaccine in Michigan, but Therese says trying to sign up for her healthcare provider, St. Joseph Mercy Health System, has become another full-time job.
“I tried every way I got into that system-every day at different times … I was kicked off, (that) system doesn’t work,” Therese told Local 4.
Other residents, much younger and non-frontline workers, appear to have succeeded in obtaining the vaccine from St. Joseph Mercy.
A man boasted on Facebook that he and his wife received a shot from St. Joseph. When asked how he went forward, he said in a wink emoji, “I think I absolutely need it.”
When Local 4 Defenders contacted St. Joseph Mercy and asked why ineligible individuals were vaccinated before those who needed them, authorities needed to use additional vaccines at the end of the shift. He said he would contact the patient on-call. A list for those vaccinations-and some patients on that list are guilty of misrepresenting themselves.
“As part of the vaccination process, some large hospitals have created a link to a paper registration form at the following address: Phase 1A Office staff for healthcare professionals and related doctors. In some cases, the link was publicly shared, which seems to have resulted in unexpected transmissions beyond 1A participants. When Phase 1B began, we sought to respect as much of these external submissions as possible for individuals eligible for Phase 1B, “St. Joseph officials said in a statement to Local 4. .. A “Will Call” list of individuals who have submitted interest knowing that additional doses of vaccine may be given towards the end of the vaccine clinic shift. The Will Call list can be used to distribute these shots instead of disposing of the vaccine at the end of the day. These “additional” vaccines are available on a first-come, first-served basis with very short notifications only to those who meet the current 1B criteria.
“As we proceed with vaccination within the community, we are in a position to trust that those who have identified themselves in the age group or mandatory profession currently permitted by MDHHS are true.” Concluded.

Healthcare professionals like Therese are disappointed and disappointed, saying that improper distribution of virus vaccination is a “terrifying” situation for her and her colleagues.
