Norristown — As the COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution program continues in Montgomery County, health officials reported 172 virus-positive cases daily on Thursday.

The new positive COVID-19 individuals have brought the total number of positive cases in the county to 44,755 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were confirmed in the county. Authorities said three of the new cases were individuals who lived in long-term care facilities.

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported on Thursday, bringing the county to deaths at 1,176 since Wils surfaced in the county last March.

Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Thursday that 18,285 county residents had received a total of two doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine by February 10 during Phase 1A, an ongoing state vaccine distribution program. ..
