Norristown — As the COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution program continues in Montgomery County, health officials reported 172 virus-positive cases daily on Thursday.

The new positive COVID-19 individuals have brought the total number of positive cases in the county to 44,755 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were confirmed in the county. Authorities said three of the new cases were individuals who lived in long-term care facilities.

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported on Thursday, bringing the county to deaths at 1,176 since Wils surfaced in the county last March.
