No new COVID-19 deaths reported to OHA for 2 consecutive days | Local
On Monday, the Oregon Department of Health reported no new deaths from COVID-19 for the second consecutive day. The death toll from COVID-19 in Oregon remains at 2,137.
Monday’s OHA daily report contained 184 new confirmed estimated cases, bringing the state to a total of 150,464 at the time of the pandemic.
Seven new cases were reported in Benton County on Monday and one in Linn County. Test results reported on Monday showed a positive rate of 4.1% in Benton County and 3.1% in Linn County.
During the pandemic, Linn County had 3,499 cases and 54 deaths, and Benton County had 2,181 cases and 16 deaths.
Other than Benton and Linn counties, the state’s new cases reported on Monday were Clackamas (7), Colombia (1), Crook (1), Curry (3), Deshutes (24), Douglas (13), and Harney. (4), Jackson (6), Jefferson (4), Josephine (4), Klamath (1), Lake (5), Lane (26), Malfur (1), Marion (6), Multnomah (23), Pork (3), Umatilla (3), Union (5), Washington (30), Yamhill (6).
OHA reported that the number of cases and electronic test results was lower than expected on Monday. Authorities say this is likely related to winter weather and dangerous travel conditions.
The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not provide the COVID-19 update on Monday. By Sunday, authorities reported 482,536 cumulative deaths and 27,417,468 illness cases due to COVID-19 in the United States during the pandemic.
