Orange County Report reported 253 new cases and 38 new deaths as of February 22 – Orange County Register
The OC Health Care Agency reported 253 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, February 22, increasing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 244,885.
Public health officials in Orange County reported 38 new deaths from the coronavirus on Monday, and the cumulative total in the county has increased to 3,848 since the follow-up began.
Data on deaths in the county may be edited from death certificates or collected during the case investigation process and may take several weeks to process.
The county also reported 556 cases at a local hospital, a decrease of 21 from the previous report. There were 179 patients listed in the intensive care unit on Monday.
The total number of inpatients has fallen to about the same level as at the end of November.
The· California Public Health Service The Vaccine Dashboard shows that as of February 22, 628,124 vaccine doses were distributed in Orange County.
An estimated 5,119 viruses have been recorded in Orange County in the last 14 days. The total for 14 days was 12,745 two weeks ago, a decrease of 59.8%.
According to the county’s latest information, coronavirus testing has been conducted 2,967,884 times since it was first launched in the field, with at least 5,125 new tests since the previous report.
Of the cumulative 3,848 deaths reported by the virus, 948 were listed as residents of skilled care facilities, 431 as life support facilities, one as an OC prison inmate, and eight as homeless.
The breakdown of deaths by age in the county is as follows:
- 85 years and over: 32.72% (1,259, 6 increase)
- 75-84: 24.19% (931)
- 65-74: 19.41% (747, 13 increase)
- 55-64: 13.67% (526)
- 45-54: 6.50% (250)
- 35-44: 2.21% (85, 1 increase)
- 25-34: 1.04% (40)
- 18-24: 0.23% (9)
- 17 years old or younger: 0.03% (1)
As of Monday, it is estimated that 224,933 people have recovered from the virus. The number of people who have recovered is based on the cumulative number of cases over the last 28 days.
Authorities emphasize that the data posted daily is tentative and subject to change. More information may be available once individual case studies are completed.
