The Illinois Public Health Service reported 1,780 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total to 1,185,447 in the state since the pandemic began. Illinois has also reported 34 COVID-related deaths, bringing the total to 20,494 since the pandemic began.
The Iowa Public Health Service reported on Saturday that the total number of COVID-19 positive and antigen tests was 363,130. That number includes 303,409 positive COVID-19 tests and 59,721 positive antigen tests. These numbers also reflect people who may have been tested multiple times, or false positive tests. This represents an increase in 464 positive tests from Friday.
In a breakdown of individuals tested positive for COVID-19 or COVID antibodies, the Iowa Public Health Service on Saturday reported that a total of 336,007 people had been tested since the pandemic began. Of these tests, 279,745 were COVID-19 positive and 56,262 were antigen test positive for COVID-19 antibody.
In addition, seven more deaths have been reported by Iowa state officials, bringing the total number of COVID-related deaths in the state to 5,470 since the pandemic began.
