In Utah, more than three-quarters of the COVID-19 vaccine is given, and more than 250,000 Utah have been vaccinated for the second time. This is about 8.4% of the state’s population who received two doses.
Utah reported seven more deaths on Wednesday. Five of them occurred before February 10 and have only recently been identified as coronavirus-related. State coroners have determined that one of the deaths reported on Monday (a man in Iron County, ages 65-84) was not due to COVID-19, and that man’s death was removed from the state’s tally. It was.

Salt Lake County reported five deaths: men and women aged 45-64. Males and females 65-84; and females over 85 years old.
One each died in Box Elder County and Washington County, both men aged 65-84.
Hospitalizations reported in the last day • 212. It’s down one from Tuesday. Of the patients currently hospitalized, 92 are in the intensive care unit — same as Tuesday.
Tests reported in the last day • 8,249 people were tested for the first time. A total of 21,267 people were tested.
Percentage of positive tests • The state-specific method is 8.8%. This is lower than the 7-day average of 10.2%.
The new method counts all test results, including repeated tests for the same individual. The interest rate on Wednesday is currently 3.4%, which is lower than the 7-day average of 4.8%.
