Iowa reports a big boost to vaccination
Editor’s Note: The daily numbers we report do not match the numbers reported daily by the state. Every day at 10am, get the previous day’s number from 10am and subtract the current number from the 10am state. Instead of reporting one day late, I would like to provide you with the latest information. For Black Hawk and Linn counties, figures are reported from the county’s COVID-19 website. For Johnson and Dubuke counties, we report figures from the state website.
IOWA
(KWWL) —According to the state dashboard, there were 539 new confirmed cases between 10 am Friday and 10 am Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 339,208.
Of the 339,208 people who tested positive, 319,783 recovered, according to the state website. This is 779 higher recovery rates than the state reported Thursday.
The state’s death toll was 5,552, three more than reported yesterday.
Subtracting the total number of cases (339,208) minus the number of recovery (319,783) and the number of deaths (5,552) shows that there are currently 13,873 active positive cases in the state.
As of Saturday morning, 33 patients had been hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours, with a total of 170 hospitalizations, down from 176 the day before. Of these, 38 are in the ICU (down from 39) and 10 are in the ventilator (up from 9).
In Iowa, 3,064 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, for a total of 1,575,063 people who have been tested for COVID-19.

Black Hawk County
As of 10 am on Saturday Black Hawk COVID-19 Dashboard Since 10 am on Thursday, 21 new cases have been displayed, leaving a total of 15,987 cases. There are 21 additional collections, leaving a total of 14,237. There were no additional deaths, for a total of 293 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 9,336 inhabitants are fully vaccinated.
Linn County
As of 10 am on Saturday Linn County COVID-19 Dashboard Since 10 am on Thursday, 18 new cases have been displayed, leaving a total of 19,498 cases. There are 26 additional collections, leaving a total of 17,990 collections. There were no additional deaths, with a total of 328 deaths in the county. Currently, there are 15 patients in the county. In Linn County, 19,617 residents are fully vaccinated.
Johnson County
according to State dashboard Twenty-one new positive cases have been reported in Johnson County since 10 am on Saturday and 10 am on Friday. This results in a total of 13,159 reported cases. There were a total of 12,553 recovery, 22 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 75. In Johnson County, 18,248 inhabitants are fully vaccinated.
DUBUQUE COUNTY
according to State dashboard Ten more positive cases have been reported in Dubuk County since 10 am on Saturday and 10 am on Friday. This results in a total of 12,445 reported cases. Twenty-seven additional recoveries have been reported, leaving a total of 11,794. One more death was reported, leaving a total of 196. In Dubuque County, 9,613 inhabitants are fully vaccinated.
