Hamilton will temporarily close the COVID-19 vaccine hotline until Monday-Hamilton

In an announcement on Tuesday afternoon, the city said the temporary closure of the hotline was immediately effective to “streamline the booking process” before the state’s new system was launched on Monday.

Hamilton’s health official offered an apology last week after suffering a mass call outage after the city’s hotline opened in late February.
The city said it ran into a number of problems over the first weekend due to the city’s call center, which was not equipped to handle large numbers of inquiries.
Hamilton will lower the minimum age for COVID-19 vaccination from Monday as it continues its Phase 1 program, according to the city’s Emergency Operations Center.
