Green Bay-Brown County officials are investigating a cluster of coronavirus cases at a meat-packing plant in East Side after the number of sickness increased to nearly 300 over the weekend.

The county reported 292 cases on Monday, an increase of 119 since Friday, and five at Oneida Nation. The weekend surge has come after authorities asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate an explosive incident in the Green Bay area.

According to Shove, 22 people are hospitalized.

Brown County environmental health manager Ted Shove said the recent surge included a cluster of incidents at JBS Packerland on Lyme Kiln Road. The number of cases from the plant is unknown, but Shove said that CDC will help track contacts to identify the number of people infected.

The county also confirmed cases at the Danish American Food Group and Salm Partners, but these meat processing companies do not see as many as JBS. CDC Low risk of getting a virus through food or packaging shipped at room or low temperature.

According to Shob, JBS is increasing employee self-tests and staggering breaks and lunch hours. The number of people who were in close contact and shared a rest space was tied to the county authorities who asked people to keep their distances to counter the spread of the virus.

The county is investigating whether JBS is following public health recommendations.

“We will consider enforcement options as needed,” Shob said.

Relation: According to the union, JBS provides salaries and protective equipment to employees of the Green Bay beef factory.

Governor Tony Evers said Monday that Green Bay is addressing the outbreak of the coronavirus, which poses “a huge risk potential for the community.” The state sent 2,200 test collection supplies and personal protective equipment to the city.

Both JBS Packing employees and American Foods employees are reportedly infected with the coronavirus and will speak at 2:30 pm. Press conference held by the Voces de la Frontera advocacy group in Milwaukee. According to the group, the employee is the father at JBS and the son at American Food.

Both companies did not immediately answer the call for comments.

Rumors are swirling in Brown County about potential positive COVID-19 cases at local beef processing plants, especially after the infection forced factory closures in Colorado, South Dakota, and Pennsylvania. Closures include the JBS Beef Factory in Greenery, Colorado and the JBS Pork Processing Factory in Worthington, MN.

Brown County officials revealed the source of the cluster three days after refusing to disclose the information.

On Friday, county health officials said they were investigating a role that “a non-governmental organization with multiple locations throughout the county” might play in the county’s sudden outbreak of the coronavirus. It will not provide any additional information about the organization.

The County Health and Welfare Department has not responded to a Sunday evening email from the Green Bay Press Gazette seeking information about cases of coronavirus at a meat packing plant.

It is unclear whether the increase in the number of cases over the weekend is related to the April 7 elections, not just to the JBS cluster, Schob said. Despite the warning of staying home, state authorities are closely monitoring whether cases will increase two weeks after face-to-face voting has led people to polls.

“In general, I think the spread of the community is very large. Due to the clustered growth, it also affected the overall number of cases.”

Health officials had previously predicted that the number of Green Bay regions would skyrocket about two weeks after the election. Due to a lack of polling place workers, the city voted at two polling places instead of the usual polling place31.

JBS employs more than 1,200 people at the Lime Kiln Road facility and has products for the label 5 Star Beef, 5 Star Reserve Beef, Clear River Farm Beef, 4 Star Beef, Showcase Premium USA Beef. Manufacturing.
