COVID Vaccine: Increasingly Cook County announces initial 25K dose schedule on Sunday
After hitting a record low two weeks ago, the positive rate increased by almost 45%.
On the other hand, the first dose of Pfizer vaccine can be booked at noon on Sunday. Eligible and approved key workers under Phases 1A, 1B, 1B + can sign up for shots with new state guidelines.
Shots will take place at Triton College, South Suburban College, Des Plaines and Forest Park.

In addition, anyone previously classified as 1C in higher education, government, media, restaurants, construction, and religious leaders is eligible to schedule bookings.
According to the latest data from the Illinois Public Health Service, the state’s positive rate reaches a weekly high of 3.4%. The state reported more than 2.600 newly confirmed cases and 25 additional deaths.

To date, 2 million Illinois residents, 16% of the state’s population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The state vaccinates more than 99,000 people a day on average.
Governor JB Pritzker said he could be forced to rethink his approach to completely reopening the state.
