COVID-19: 11 Western Mass Communities at High Risk of Virus Spread

More communities in western Massachusetts are located in the “Red Zone” of COVID-19, and nearly 20 are located in the “Yellow Zone”, seeing an increase in cases.

The Massachusetts Public Health Service released its weekly COVID-19 Health Report on Thursday, April 1, focusing on regions of the state where new cases are increasing in relation to the region’s population.

Under new state standards, the Public Health Service takes population size into account when deciding what is considered “high risk,” “medium risk,” or “low risk.”

These Massachusetts communities are labeled “high risk,” according to the latest data released by the ministry.

  • Adams;
  • Chicopee;
  • Granby;
  • Hampden;
  • Radrow;
  • Monson;
  • Orange;
  • Palmer;
  • Springfield;
  • Wear;
  • Williamstown.

Communities with a population of less than 10,000 and more than 25 cases are considered “red zones.” Only two communities were considered high-risk as Massachusetts continued to fight the latest waves of the virus last week.

A community with a population of 10,000 to 50,000 with an average of 10 or more per 100,000 inhabitants and a positive rate of 5%, and a community with a population of over 50,000 and a COVID of 10 or more and 19 per 100,000 with a positive rate of 4% Exceeding communities are also included in the “Red Zone”.

A community in the “Yellow Zone”. This means that it is a moderate threat to spread the virus in Massachusetts.

  • Agawam;
  • Amherst;
  • Belchertown;
  • East Long Meadow;
  • East Hampton;
  • Great Barrington;
  • Holyoke;

  • Pittsfield;
  • South Hadley;

“Public health risk mitigation measures remain the same,” health officials said. “Individuals continue to wear masks or face covers while in public, maintain a social distance of 6 feet, stay home when ill, and have symptoms or close contact. If identified, you will need to be inspected. “

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
