CDC Issued New Guidance on Surface COVID-19 Infection – CBS Denver

Pittsburgh (KDKA) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new guidance on the transmission of COVID-19 from contaminated surfaces.

According to the CDC, people can be infected through contaminated surfaces, but the risk is now low.

The CDC director states that these surfaces will be cleaned regularly with soap or detergent. Disinfection is not always necessary.

Dr. Rochelle Warrensky, director of the CDC, said: “Disinfection is recommended only in indoor environments, schools, and homes where there have been suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

In most cases, fogging, fumigation, and electrostatic spraying are not recommended as the primary methods of disinfection and actually pose some safety risks.

You can also reduce surface permeability by wearing the mask consistently and correctly.
