After receiving the Covid vaccine, Vicky Ferran is “happy and relieved”
Vicky Ferrand, a cervical cancer activist, talked about her relief after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
Ms. Ferrand, a Vicky tribe in Maryland, USA, said she had been vaccinated in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, for a new cancer treatment clinical trial, which she wrote on her Facebook page.
She has been vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson, so there is no need to return to the second vaccination.
“I was happy and relieved to be vaccinated now, as my constant worries about catching Covid weighed heavily on me.
“If I caught Covid, I would have had to stop the clinical trial, and that was just something I didn’t want to happen.
“So far, it’s very good. I’m very tired today, but it may be because of yesterday’s treatment.”
Vaccine says that vaccination gives you the freedom to become a tourist on a good day.
She enjoys living in Old Town, a beautiful waterfront area.
The two Kilkenny-born mothers emigrated to the United States in January for treatment that is expected to last for six months.
The trial is overseen by Dr. Julius Strauss of the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. Vicky is receiving her sixth treatment.
Ferran was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014, but was completely cleared after long-term intensive treatment.
However, three years ago, an audit conducted by Cervical Check revealed that the 2011 smear test was reported as a false negative.
Within a few weeks, a CT scan revealed that the cancer had recurred. The diagnosis was final. She published what had happened and her great efforts sparked a debate about the treatment and care of Irish cancer patients.
