Pa. As the number of covid cases increases, hospitalization will decrease for the first time in nearly three weeks
Coronavirus cases continue to grow state-wide, with the latest figures released Friday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Case

There were 165 new cases in Westmoreland County. This is the second highest number this month. The county’s 7-day average of cases is currently 129, and the total number of 7-day cases is 905, the highest number since January 25. Of the county’s new cases, 97 were identified and 68 were listed as possible.

There were 35 covid-related deaths reported by the state on Friday, with a total of 214 deaths over the seven days, the highest ever in April. Over the last three weeks, that number has fluctuated between 172 and 226. To date, there have been 25,362 covid-related deaths in the state.
The Allegheny County Health Department added 10 deaths on Friday, mostly due to state data imports from electronic death reporting systems. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Data tracker, Pennsylvania received 8,911,635 vaccinations, of which 6,819,136 (76.52%) were administered. This puts Pennsylvania 27th out of 50 states in terms of the proportion of covid vaccines given.
